It does not work well with the Downy Ball as it is very thick. It has a clean smell. Overall, it is nothing special. Won't bother buying again.

I bought this to use in my front load HE washer. It has the dispenser that is a pull out drawer and water rinses it into the load at the right time. Well, it clogs the dispenser after just one use. It is strange because it is more liquidy BEFORE you wash the clothes. Like it dries out while it is in the dispenser or something. Very weird. I have had to completely take out the dispenser and wash it out each time I use this. Which really defeats the purpose too because only about half of the softener actually gets into the wash. I will not buy again. Giving to a friend that does not have an HE front loader.
