This papertowel is 100% recycled which is amazing. It is strong, absorbent, and cleans well. It's a little rough but why would that matter? While wet it is definitely soft enough to use on the face. This papertowel is the only brand and type I will buy. My carbon footprint is way more important to me than the additional softness of other brands. Thanks Seventh Gen!!!

I bought it because I am pro eco-friendly products. I love seventh generation detergents, so I decided to give the toilet paper a try. I can live with the harsh paper (it is not absolutely harsh), but it is not strong enough, especially when it's wet.

these towels are pretty good: absorbent, tough, and perforated into half-square sizes. the only drawback is that they aren't quite as soft and gentle as, say, Bounty. i wouldn't say they're harsh, but if i use them on my skin, i do notice a slight grittiness that i don't feel with softer brands. nonetheless, i continue buying them because they are effective and 100% recycled and because i support Seventh Generation's philosophy.
