The curve is small, so you can really cut a nice line across your nail without needing a file. Also, I've found the small curve means I can use them on my 1-year-old (I find it a lot safer to quickly cut his nails with these sharp clippers than to screw around forever trying to cut his nails with the poor quality, dull "safety" clippers they market for small kids). And you can't beat the price.
