I wash, shave, use a lotion, then rub this in. I avoid the dark areas of my knees/elbows and for the knuckles or toes I apply it lightly. I get a great color, the smell disappears, and it doesn't leave a bronzer on the skin which I love because I don't want that stuff rubbing off on to my clothes. It also dries fast and makes me look really tan fast. Worth the money!!
