These earplugs are wonderful. I used to use the Hear-o brand, but they changed their design so it now matches these, and these are a lot cheaper for the same item. I use them every night, and each pair lasts about 1-2 weeks, then I have to dispose of them and grab a new pair. I have a couple of the plastic carrying cases from the Hear-O brand I bought, so I use them when I travel, and I also keep a pair in the car because sometimes when I walk on the beach the cold air gives me an earache and these do the perfect trick! Walk on the beach and no earache:-) As far as blocking out sound, they are wonderful. The only sounds that get through are high-pitched noises (like squeeky floorboards or tea kettles). They are also compostable and I put them in the compost bin when I'm done with them. I highly recommend them!
